Abstract

1455636 Gripper VALMET OY 8 April 1974 [10 April 1973] 15513/74 Heading B8H A load-holding means, which can be mounted upon the mast cranes 25 of a vehicle for hoisting loads, comprises a frame 2 having a pair of end beams 3 attached to the end parts 1 of the frame 2 by means of fixing spars 2b, and mounted as one of the long sides of the frame 2 are a pair of clamping arms 6 which pivot in a vertical plane a clamping beam 5 being attached to the lower ends of the arms 6, pivotal movement of the arms 6 being effected by means of a pair of rams 12, while on the other long side of the frame 2 a pair of vertical spars 2a mount a centre beam 4, so that on raising the arms 6 and clamping beam 5 to their position 6a, 5a shown in phantom in Fig. 1, a load can be introduced into the load space of the frame 2. The spars 2a may be replaced by rotatable arms which are equivalent to the arms 6, and provided with rams to rotate them in a vertical plane.
