Abstract

1454763 Cleaning conveyer belts HALLAM POLYMERS & ENG Ltd 11 Dec 1974 [19 Sept 1973] 43881/73 Heading B8A A scraper for a conveyer belt 6 comprises a blade 2 consisting of a laminate of two different grades of a elastomeric material, the laminae 3, 4 being bonded together and each extending to an edge 5 to be applied to the belt. The blade 2 is bolted between two plates 7 and is urged into contact with the belt by springs or counterweights. The laminae may be of polyurethane, the thicker one 3 being the harder. With wet operating conditions the blade may be reversed so that the softer lamina 4 leads. The harder lamina may have a Shore "A" Scale Hardness in the range 75-98 degrees and the softer lamina a hardness in the range 65-88 degrees.
