1454174 Assembling pallets VEREINIGTE VERPACKUNGS GmbH 12 Oct 1973 [16 Oct 1972] 15441/76 Divided out of 1454173 Heading B5D Apparatus for assembling cardboard pallets having upper and lower deck sheets 15 with sector shaped flaps (13), Fig. 5 (not shown) punched therein and tubular bearers 10, 12, comprises a table 7 with discs 11 and concentric pins 8b to locate respectively outer tubular members 12 and a deck sheet 15 and a pneumatically actuated press punch 1 mounted on an articulated arm 2a, 2b for movement over the table and for movement towards and away from the table. In use an inner tubular member 10 is fitted on the punch which is then lowered over a pin 8b to force fit the member 10 within the member 12 with the flaps (13) trapped therebetween. The free end of the punch is shaped as a truncated cone to facilitate the insertion of the inner tubular member in the outer tubular member.
