Abstract

1454017 Photopolymerizable compositions TORAY INDUSTRIES Inc 17 Oct 1974 [17 Oct 1973] 44935/74 Heading C3P [Also in Division G2] Photopolymerizable compositions used for producing printing plates (see Division G2) are (a) addition product of 4 mols of glycidyl methacrylate with 1 mol of xylylene diamine and benzoin methyl ether, (b) addition product of 2 mols of glycidyl methacrylate with 1 mol of tartaric acid, benzophenone, phenothiazine and a terpolymer of nylon 6/nylon 66/2,2,4- trimethyl hexamethylenediamine adipate, (c) a mixture of glyceryl monoacrylate and ethylene glycol diacrylate, Michler's ketone and ethyl acrylate/methyl methacrylate/acrylic acid terpolymer and (d) as (c) but wherein the monomer is pentaerythritol diacrylate; a mixture of N- methylol acrylamide and ethylene glycol diacrylate; the addition product of glycidyl methacrylate with either acrylic acid or N- methylol acrylamide. The composition may contain fillers (SiO 2 , TiO 2 , CaCO 3 ), dyes (Crystal Violet), other polymers (vinyl or acrylic polymers, polyalkylene oxides, cellulose ethers or esters, polyurethanes, polyamides, polyesters, epoxy, coumarone-indene or urea-, phenol- or melamine-formaldehyde resins, natural rubber, gum arabic or gelatine) or other monomers containing at least one hydroxyl group and at least one acryloyl group. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,146,618.
