Abstract

1452905 Measuring vehicle load PEAK COMPONENTS Ltd 16 April 1974 [26 April 1973] 19813/73 Heading G1N A load-distance measuring device includes a start pulse generator I which emits a pulse at the end of each mile travelled by a vehicle, the pulse triggering a constant frequency oscillator from which pulses are gated at 7 into a metering device 8, and are also fed to a counter 3 which connects to a D-A converter 4. The analogue signal representing the pulse count is compared in comparator 5 with the signal from the load weighing device 6 and at equality an inhibit signal is fed to the gate 7. Thus the number of pulses passed to the metering device represents the vehicle load at the end of each unit distance. Alternatively the total tonmileage may be printed-out. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 2 (not shown) the load measuring device provides a digital signal and when the number of pulses from the counter or directly from the oscillator, equals the output of the load measuring device the comparator sends an inhibit signal as before.
