1451672 Seals RHEINSTAHL AG HANOMAG BAUMASCHINEN 6 May 1974 [14 May 1973] 19785/74 Heading F2B [Also in Division B7] The links 3, 4 of the track chain of a tracked vehicle are sealed to the bush 2 by seals 5, 6 moulded in situ from a settable sealing compound injected into the sealing grooves through ducts 8 and 9. The contact surfaces of the bush are covered with lacquer, grease, wax, paper on a plastic or metal foil, to prevent the sealing compound from sticking to them. The ducts 8, 9 are subsequently plugged. The seals 5, 6 may be silicone rubber and the bush 2 may be sealed to the link pin 1 by a further seal (7, Fig. 2, not shown).
