Abstract
1451276 Infrared lenses RANK ORGANISATION Ltd 30 April 1975 [6 May 1974] 19922/74 Heading G2J An objective for the I.R. band (e.g. 8-14Ám) comprises the lenses shown wherein the front element is of Germanium; distance S 1 lies between 0À5F and F; the radii of the front and rear surfaces of each meniscus element differs by not more than 0À25F and at least one element of the rear unit is also made of Germanium. Surface R2 may be aspheric. A small flat field corrector may be used with the objective. Numerical data and modulation transfer functions are given for one example.
