Abstract

145,115. Asquith, Ltd., W., and Feather, G. March 19, 1919. Scavengers' wagons.-Wagons are arranged to carry a number of tubs &c. in tiers on endless conveyers, means being provided to maintain the tube in an horizontal position whilst on inclined portions of the conveyers. In the arrangement shown, the two upper tiers of tubs B are carried by the conveyer A and loaded through a door a', and the lower tier rests on the wagon floor, and is loaded through a door a<8>. The conveyer comprises a pair of endless chains A provided with rollers a running on fixed guides, the chain on one side of the tubs being mounted in advance of the chain on the other side. The tubs are carried by trays b provided with diagonally opposite pins b', which are mounted in the chains as shown in Fig. 6. One tray may carry two tubs, and two conveyers may be arranged side by side in the wagon. One or both chains of the conveyer may be operated by a sprocket-wheel a<5>, which is rotated by worm gearing a' and a hand-wheel a<3>.
