Abstract

1448686 Knitting machines WIRKMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB 12 Dec 1973 [13 Dec 1972] 57493/73 Heading D1C An electronic thread monitoring device for a textile, e.g. stitch bonding or pile knitting, machine comprises a D.C. circuit including a first stage 1 which may be a switch 9 or variable resistance component 10 responsive to breakage of an individual thread or thread sheet, a D.C. amplifier 2, a charge storage stage 3 suitably including a capacitor C, a threshold value switch 4 which changes its condition when the output of stage 3 exceeds a predetermined value, an indicator e.g. lamp 5 connected to the output of switch 4 and an electronic switch 7 controlling a relay 8 for stopping the machine and connected, to switch 4 suitably through a decoupling diode D3. Each of a plurality of threads being monitored may have its own stages 1 to 5, the respective diodes D 3 to D n constituting a NOR gate 6. The switch 9 is closed by means of a lamella engaging the thread being monitored.
