Abstract

1448677 Invalid beds PIONEER WELDING CO Ltd 28 Jan 1974 [26 Jan 1973] 4226/73 Heading A4J An invalid bed comprises a main frame 10 on which three mattress support sections 12, 13, 15 are adjustably mounted, the head-section 12 being pivoted to the main frame and being provided with a guideway 16a engaged by a roller 23 mounted on one arm 22 of a lever which is pivoted to the main frame and has its other arm connected to one arm 24 of a second lever which supports the central section 13. The second lever is pivotally connected to the third section and is provided with a roller 27 engaging a guideway 28 in the main frame. An L-shaped member 30 which has one end pivoted to the arm 22 is slidably mounted in the main frame such that movement of the member 30 alters the inclination of the head-section together with change in disposition of the foot and central sections as a result of their connection to the second lever and the inter-connection of the second lever with the first. The central section comprises two sections mounted side by side and moveable away from each other in channels 42 provided between the arms 24 on each side of the bed. A bed-pan may be provided on a platform which rests on the frame supports 18 of the central section.
