1447960 Cleaning vehicle head-lamp lenses FAUSTO CARELLO & C SpA 4 March 1975 [6 March 1974] 8923/75 Heading A4F [Also in Division F2] A wiper system for vehicle head-lamps and other lamps includes a transmission device, comprising an input member, e.g. a flexible cable 6, connected to a reciprocating output member of a driving motor 1 to reciprocate therewith, and transmission means, e.g. a slide 8, between the input member 6 and flexible racks 9, 68 for reciprocation of the latter to rotate pinions (not shown) each connected rigidly to a two wiper-blade assembly 20, 21 for cleaning a lamp glass 17. The flexible racks are formed by helical wires 68 wound on flexible cables 9 and are each secured at one end to a coupling element 64 formed with a head 62 engaged in a recess in the slide 8. The flexible cable 6 has a helical wire 67 wound around it and is in threaded engagement with a hole 54 in the slide 8.
