Abstract
1447953 Coating with glass INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 13 Jan 1975 [27 Feb 1974] 1303/75 Heading C1M [Also in Divisions C4 and H1] In a tricolour gas discharge display device (see Division H1) luminescent compositions comprise transition elements (e.g. At Nos. 21- 30) in a glass, excited by panchromatic light from the discharge. Cu, Co and Cu-Sn for example provide aqua green, blue and red emission respectively. Reference is made to Specification 1,399,548 in which a glass frit (including Pb) is sprayed and reflowed over conductors. In the present ease, the transition elements are deposited on the frit after spraying and diffused into the dielectric during reflow. A MgO layer is included. Phosphor deposition may be by evaporation through a mask.
