Abstract

1447551 Fluid regulation WESTINGHOUSE BREMSEN UND APPARATEBAU GmbH 30 Nov 1973 [11 Dec 1972] 55610/73 Heading G3H An hydraulic fluid-flow control apparatus for controlling flow between a fluid source 1, Fig. 1, and consumers 3a-d, has a respective flow metering restriction 5a-d and a respective pressurebalancing variable throttle 6a-d in each consumer supply line, the throttles being inter-connected to receive a common control input. The latter is derived from the supply lines via double-acting non-return valves 8, 9, 10 arranged to communicate the highest of the supply pressures as the control input to each throttle. The pressure of the control input acts on one end of each throttling spool 12 subjected at its other end to consumer supply pressure, whereby the spools assume positions wherein they throttle the supplies to effect pressure balance and maintain the desired ratio of flowrates as set by the restrictions 5a-d regardless of the loadings on the consumers. A similar hydraulic apparatus having five consumers is illustrated in Fig. 2 (not shown).
