Abstract

1446864 Digging blades for earth-working equipment DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 7 Jan 1974 [5 Oct 1972] 45889/72 Heading E1F A digger blade 1 for earth-working equipment has one or more earth-engaging cutters 4 so extending forward of the lower edge 7 of the blade that each cutter can be caused to oscillate about an axis that is substantially parallel to and close to said edge. When several cutters are provided they have an abutting relationship and are caused to oscillate in a phased relationship to one another. Preferably each cutter is provided with a rearward extension on which an hydraulically powered ram or a rotating cam 6 can act to cause the cutter to pivot about the axis, which is defined by stub axles mounted on a frame integral with the blade or by a resilient cushion bonded to the cutter and the frame.
