Abstract

1446748 Line-by-line copier FUJI XEROX CO Ltd 14 Dec 1973 [27 Dec 1972] 58181/73 Heading G2A In an electro-photographic copier employing line-by-line scanning by a pair of light tubes 21 in a housing 20 moving along rails 22, the scanned width of an original 12 on a transparent platen 10 may be reduced by lowering a plate 18 having a slit aperture on to housing 20 by the retraction of a solenoid 16 (from the position shown in Fig. 4). Plate 18 has an engaging member 19 which releasably engages one vertical wall 20a of housing 20. Plate 18 may be of reflective or light-absorbing material on the side facing tubes 21.
