Abstract

1446233 Adhesive compositions LORD CORP 16 Oct 1973 [17 Oct 1972] 48072/73 Heading C3P An adhesive composition comprises (A) 75 to 99% by weight of a polymerizable liquid adhesive which comprises at least one compound having a terminal >C = CH 2 group and which is substantially free of compounds as defined in (B) and (C) below; (B) 0À5 to 15% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid; and (C) 0À5 to 10% by weight of a free organosilicon compound of the formula in which m is 0 or an integer, Y is an organic group and each X is independently a hydrolysable group or a hydrolysed group. In the examples adhesive compositions comprising a prepolymer of polydichloroprene, methyl methacrylate and styrene, an unsaturated polyester prepared from maleic acid, fumaric acid and 1,2- propylene glycol, styrene, methyl methacrylate, diisopropylol - p - toluidine, paraffin, hydroquinone, glycol dimethacrylate, butyl methacrylate, polychloroprene, an unsaturated polyester prepared from propylene glycol, phthalic acid and maleic anhydride, polystyrene, silica, acrylic acid, gamma-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane, gamma - aminopropyltriethoxysilane, phenyltrimethoxysilane, cyanoethylmethdiethoxysilane and methacrylic acid and hardened using benzoyl peroxide dispersed in benzyl phthalate.
