Abstract
1445771 Ion-exchange apparatus INSTITUTUL DE PROIECTARI TEHNOLOGICE PENTRU INDUSTRIA CHIMICA 30 July 1974 33535/74 Heading B1J A continuous-loop type of ion-exchange apparatus has a loading section in which the incoming liquid is treated, a conditioning section in which exhausted resin is rinsed and cooled, a regeneration section, a backwash section for the final rinse of regenerated resin, and a fresh resin storage section; the loading section includes a sampling device for analysing the treated liquid. Examples are given of the use of strong acid cationic resins and weak basic anionic resins; both may be used in series. In the embodiment shown, liquid to be treated enters at 11 and leaves at 12; a sample taken at 13 is analysed by analyser 14 which initiates regeneration when necessary. Washing and cooling water flows through conditioning section 3 from 18 to 19 and the conditioned resin is then regenerated in section 5, backwashed in section 7 and stored in section 10.
