Abstract
1445672 Titanates; liquid phase preparation MURATA MFG CO Ltd 11 July 1974 [13 March 1974 24 May 1974] 30833/74 Heading C1A Titanates are prepared by a process in which an aqueous solution containing ions of titanium and ions of at least one of Ba, Ca, Sr, Zn, Cd and Pb is mixed with an aqueous alkaline solution of hydrogen peroxide, the precipitate being recovered and then decomposed by heating at a temperature not lower than 100‹ C. The titanate may be modified by the addition to the aqueous solution of one or more of the following: Al, Sn, Y, Zr, Sb, Nb, Ta, Mn, Fe and rare earth elements. Amorphous or crystalline particles of uniform size (about 0À1 Á) are obtained depending on whether the decomposition temperature is below or above 600‹ C.
