Abstract

1445563 Lintels STRESSLINE (PATENTS) Ltd 24 July 1973 [24 July 1972] 34557/72 Heading E1W A prestressed or reinforced concrete lintel is provided with an elongate member 2a of metal or rigid plastics which has an angled cross section. The member 2a has an outwardly directed horizontal flange 4a and an adjacent flange 3a abutting the concrete of the lintel. The member is separable and secured to the concrete by releasable fasteners which may incorporate bolts 7b engaging embedded sockets 7a or be provided by nuts engaging embedded bolts (not shown). An angled flange 8a may project into the concrete or may engage in a preformed groove therein. The concrete lintel may be L-shaped and the corresponding elongate member may be Z-shaped.
