Abstract
1444921 Plant for removing liquid particles from gas stream PREMABERG (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd 11 March 1974 [11 Dec 1972] 57094/72 Heading B1T Liquid particles are removed from a gas stream by impingement on vertically spaced banks of parallel baffles, each bank draining into a respective horizontal duct which is connected at each end to a respective vertical drain pipe whose lower end discharges via a manometric strap (Figs. 2-4, not shown) to a vertical downcomer. Either trap and pipe can accommodate the whole flow from the bank, and the traps will maintain a liquid seal, when a ship in which the plant is located lists, rolls or pitches. In Fig. 1 (not shown) gas flows in series through two sets of four vertically spaced banks, the banks of each set acting in parallel and various drain pipes lead to a common outlet. Drainage is maintained even against a small pressure drop between the outside and inside of the plant. Ducts, traps and pipes are rectangular in cross section. Baffles have liquidcatching pockets.
