Abstract

1444709 Vehicle roofs CARROZZERIA PININFARINA SpA 3 Feb 1975 [7 March 1974] 4593/75 Addition to 1396482 Heading B7B In a vehicle sunshine roof of the kind defined and described in Specification 1,396,482 flexible elongate elements 11 are each fixed at one end to the front cross member above the windscreen, and at the other end to the stretching means acting upon the rear edge of the flexible roof portion, such that the elongate elements 11 are stretched over the longitudinal edges of the flexible roof portion which are pressed into contact with the longitudinal stringers of the coachwork when the roof is closed. As shown in Fig. 3, the elements 11 each comprise a resilient metal strip 12 having a flexible nylon band 13 and a plastics rod 14 on its upper and lower faces respectively, the whole being enclosed in a textile covering 15. The band 13 projects at the front and rear of the roof portion to be clamped to the front cross member 2 and to the cross piece 6 of the stretcher levers (7), Fig. 5 (not shown). The rod 14 forms a longitudinal extending ridge 22 which cooperates with a sealing strip 20, Fig. 2, on the longitudinal stringer 3 to grip the respective marginal part 5c of the roof portion.
