Abstract

1444172 Revetments AANNEMERS COMBINATIE ZINKWERKEN BV 7 Sept 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 42205/73 Heading E1H A revetment mat comprises a sheet of permeable fabric I and a plurality of spaced concrete blocks 2 secured to the sheet by bars woven into the sheet. The bars are preferably of iron or synthetic resin and have projections over which the cement blocks may be cast. Alternatively the projections may receive bolts which pass through passages formed in pre-cast blocks. The ends of the mat are provided with anchors 12 and one or more tubes 11 which are filled with water to secure the mat in position on the sea-bed. A rush-mat may be placed between the sheet 1 and the blocks 2. The mat may be laid using a vessel 11A, the mat being stored thereon in concertina fashion, a pair of reciprocable dogs 21, 22 being used to regulate the paying out of the mat. The mat may also be stored on a reel mounted on the fore or aft end of the vessel Figs. 14-17 (not shown).
