Abstract
1443954 Coated material L EIGENMANN 24 May 1973 [24 May 1972] 24901/73 Heading B2E A road marking material for use on a roadway surface to provide a traffic regulating sign thereon comprises an elastomeric base layer to which is bonded an upper layer consisting of a polyamide, polyurethane or polyester resin with pointed particles of hardness not less than 6 (on the Mobs' Hardness Scale) partially embedded in the upper layer, the thickness of the upper layer being such that the majority of the particles are embedded for not less than half of their dimension perpendicular to the surface. The hard particles may be crystals of quartz, beryllium or corundum. The pointed particles impart anti-skid properties.
