Abstract

1443600 Laminates BOOTH & EVANS GYM MATS Ltd 4 March 1973 [27 July 1974] 33271/74 Heading B5N [Also in Division A6] A gymnastic mat comprises a body of closed cell expanded polyethylene A bonded to a surface cover B of nylon net or other textile material, PVC or polyurethane, by means of a first layer of organic solvent based adhesive a and a layer of a second organic adhesive b. Adhesive a is a blend of a non-flammable rubber and organic solvent, e.g. a blend of trichlorethane and methylene chloride. Adhesive b may be a water-based organic adhesive which may be coloured and may comprise blends of synthetic and natural rubber and resinous products. A plurality of gymnastic mats may be juxtaposed side-by-side and secured together by strips of interlocking material C secured along the edges of each mat.
