1443501 Blow-moulding tubular laminates CONTINENTAL CAN CO Inc 28 Jan 1975 3646/75 Heading B5A A thermoplastics article having easily separable flash is made by coextruding in open mould section 42, 43 a laminate in the form of a parison 6, having a high-density inner layer 4 and a low-density outer layer 5 then closing the mould sections to enclose the parison and in closing the mould squeezing the laminate at the parting line of the mould sections to an extent sufficient to squeeze out the high-density layer at the parting line leaving thereat a thin easily severable web of low density plastics connecting the flash with the parison (see Fig. 4) and expanding the parison to form the article within the mould. Preferably, the inner layer is HD and the outer layer LD, polythene; if the article is to be coloured, the pigment is preferably incorporated in the outer layer.
