Abstract
1443068 Variable-speed friction gear HEIDOLPH-ELEKTRO KG 24 July 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 35177/73 Heading F2D A steplessly variable transmission comprises an intermediate member adjustable between input and output members, contact pressure between at least one pair of the members being generated by torque dependent means, and the arrangement being such that in each pair of co-operating members the effective diameter of the driving member is less than that of the driven member. A conical intermediate member 9, Fig. 1, adjustable in the direction 6, coacts with a conical input member 7 and with a disclike output member 8 which has a torque dependent connection 10 with the output shaft 3. In Fig. 2 the intermediate member, adjustable in the direction 15, has a hollow part 13 coacting with a cone 2 which has a torque dependent coupling 10 with the input shaft 1, and a conical part 14 coacting with a hollow output member 12. A further embodiment has an intermediate member pivotally adjustable about an axis 19, Fig. 3, and having a disc-like part coacting with a concave surface of the input member 17 and a hemispherical surface 18 coacting with an output disc 16. Both input and output shafts have torque-dependent couplings 10.
