Abstract
1442973 Seals J M VOITH GmbH 20 Feb 1975 [13 March 1974] 7187/75 Heading F2B [Also in Division D2] In a paper-making machine, a seal between a band 4 and the downstream end wall of a chamber 24 supplied with compressed air from chamber 25 comprises either a tube 37 (Fig. 2) mounted between a holder 36 and an elastic blade 35 and supplied with air from the same source as the chamber 25, or a roller 40 (Fig. 3) mounted in a shell-like holder 42 attached to the downstream end wall, a shoe 43 bearing against the roller 40 and being mounted by a ball-and-socket joint 45 having bores 44 through which a fluid such as air or water is fed from a chamber 46, the roller 40 being pressed against the band 4 by the pressure within the chamber 25.
