Abstract
1442380 Friction joint HOLMBOM & HEDLUND AB 9 Oct 1973 [9 Oct 1972] 47122/73 Heading E2F A friction joint 1 comprises first and second members 2, 3 mounted on a shaft 6 together with a plate 5 arranged between the members and connected to the member 2 by a friction coupling, and a catch 17 mounted on the second member and pivotable under the influence of gravity on pivoting of the second member, e.g. to a position 23 or 24, so as to engage teeth 22 on the plate 5 and prevent pivoting of the second member in the reverse direction, except by overcoming the resistance of the friction coupling.
