Abstract

1442170 False ceilings adapted for air conditioning MESSIER 17 Oct 1973 [20 Oct 1972] 48390/73 Heading F4V A false ceiling comprises interchangeable elements of the same size in horizontal crosssection, comprising first elements 7 for inflow of conditioned air and second elements (9, Fig. 6) for outflow of stale air, each of the elements 7, (9) having a flat bottomed central portion with airflow passages 11 therethrough and an upstanding rim, and each element 7 being supplied with air through flexible-bellows 13 which may have a heat and acoustic insulating blanket 15 secured thereto, whereby when the bellows 13 are not supplied with air they collapse and the passages 11 are closed by the bellows 13 or the blanket 15, when present. The elements 7 are supplied from one or more common distributing chambers via flexible ducts 5. The second elements (9) also include blankets 15. The elements 7 (9) are square, rectangular or round in horizontal cross-section and may be identical. The ceiling may also include imperforate elements which are interchangeable with the first and second elements. The blankets 15 may be made of glass wool and the bellows 13 and ducts 5 of coated fabric.
