Abstract

1442077 Spiked plate ERIC CORNER Ltd 21 April 1975 [31 May 1974] 24286/74 Addition to 1391811 Heading F2H A metal connecting plate 1 for interconnecting truss members has teeth 2 struck from the body of the plate so as to leave slots 3 each having at one end only thereof a tooth projecting from the plate, and each tooth having a barb adjacent its free end at one side only, each tooth having a generally curved transverse cross-section with the inwardly deformed surface facing the slot. The slots of adjacent rows may be staggered, as shown, each tooth being at the upper end of its respective slot and the barbs all extending in the same direction. Alternatively, the slots of adjacent rows may be aligned transversely with the teeth in adjacent rows being disposed at opposite ends of the slots and having their barbs oppositely directed (Fig. 5, not shown). In yet another modification, the teeth of adjacent rows may be aligned transversely. The plate may be provided with ribs 4. Each tooth may be arranged at a right angle, or at an angle, e.g. 45 degrees to the row in which it lies. The barb may be deformed relative to the tooth crosssection below it.
