1441863 Continuous-filament fastener elements for sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 23 July 1974 [24 Aug 1973] 32467/74 Heading E2S In a row of sliding clasp fastener scoops fabricated of a continuous filament of synthetic resin 10 each scoop 11 includes a coupling head 14, a pair of spaced-apart legs 12, 13, and at least one reinforcement formed integrally with the continuous filament and bridging said pair of legs in predetermined relative positions, the reinforcement defining a pair of recesses 20, 20 on the opposite sides thereof which are adapted to receive the coupling heads of a complementary row of identical scoops upon the interengagement of the two rows of scoops. As shown, each pair of legs 12, 13 adjacent the corresponding head 14 is compressed, from opposite sides, to form a pair of generally flat reinforcements 18, 19 which are in close end-to-end abutment and which have a thickness less than the diameter of the filament 10 to define a pair of recesses 20, 20 which cooperate with similar recesses on adjoining scoops to receive the coupling heads 14' of the complementary scoops 11'. In a modification the abutting ends of the reinforcements 18, 19 of each scoop 11 are fused together to form a single reinforcement (21), Fig. 5 not shown. Only one of the legs of each scoop may be integrally provided with a reinforcement in abutting relationship to the other leg.
