Abstract
1441160 Grafted vinyl or vinylidene halide polymers HOOKER CHEMICALS & PLASTICS CORP 3 Dec 1973 [27 Dec 1972] 55824/73 Heading C3G A graft terpolymer is produced from a vinyl or vinylidene halide polymer, a vinyl ester having from 6 to 18 carbon atoms in the ester group and maleic anhydride. The vinyl ester and maleic anhydride being present in a proportion of 3 to 30% by weight, based on the weight of vinyl or vinylidene halide polymer. Examples are given in which polyvinyl chloride is grafted in bulk with maleic anhydride and vinyl stearate or vinyl laurate in the presence of tert-butyl perbenzoate, or 2-tertbutylazo-2,4- dimethoxy-4-methylpentane, and atin stabilizer.
