Abstract

Handles; fixing by sockets, tangs, and the like with locking and securing devices.-An angular socket wrench and screwdriver comprises a hollow casing having an angular extension in which is rotatably mounted a socket member connected to a shaft fitting in the casing by a universal joint housed in the angular extension. A hollow casing 10 has an angular extension 11 in which is rotatably mounted a socket member 18 having lugs 19 engaging the ends of a taper pin 22 forced through a hole in the ball 20, in which, at right-angles to the pin 22, are two short studs 21 engaging the lugs 13 on the hollow shaft 12, of which the enlarged head 14 buts against the end of the casing 10. The socket member 18 is of polygonal shape internally, and has a spring clamping-ring 29 fitted in a groove, and a number of implements, such as screwdriver, valvegrinding tool, wrench, &c., of corresponding polygonal shape 30, have grooved extensions 31 to engage with the ring 29. The outer end of the casing is closed by a removable cap 25 having a split sleeve provided with ribs engaging a groove 16 in the enlarged end 14 of the shaft 12, and recesses 27 corresponding to holes in the end 14 and of smaller size, adapted to grip the operating- lever. The tools may fit within the hollow shaft 12, and are tubular so that the operating-lever may also be contained. A hole is provided in the angle of the hollow casing for inserting the taper pin.
