1440500 Diffusion coating ferrous articles SURFALLOY CORP 23 Oct 1973 49268/73 Heading C7F Ferrous articles are diffusion coated in a molten Pb bath with e.g. Cr, Al, Ti, Si, Co, Ni, whilst in a barrel rotating about an axis which is horizontal or up to 60 degrees to the horizontal. Air is excluded during coating by providing a vacuum or an inert gas e.g. argon. The barrel is heated to 1950‹F for chromizing.
