Abstract

1439208 Axial-flow fans G MELOTTI and G SONCINI 8 Oct 1973 [13 Oct 1972] 46887/73 Heading F1C A fan comprises one or more impellers each rotating about a horizontal axis and each carried by an arm also rotating about a horizontal axis, both rotations being effected by a single motor. Two impellers 8 carried by arms B are driven by a motor 1 via belts or chains 7, while the arms are rotated about a central horizontal axis by the motor through reduction gearing 2 having a reaction shaft 3 fixed to the fan casing A. The casing A is mounted on wheels 5 which are driven by the reduction gearing 2 via a chain transmission 4 and a reversing gear 6 which reverses the direction of rotation at the end of each traverse.
