Abstract

1439200 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems CARRIER CORP 5 June 1973 [12 July 1972] 26768/73 Heading G3P [Also in Division G1] A thermostat comprises a bi-metallic element 59 supported by a thermoplastic calibration member 77, Fig. 4, which member has connected thereto resilient spring means 81. The spring means 81 exerts a compressive force so as to compress the calibration member 77 into frictional engagement with control means journaled thereby and hence prevent self rotation of the control means, the control means being adjustable to adjust the bi-metallic element. The spring means 81 may comprise portion 84 having side arm portions 83, 83'. As described, rotation of rod 75 and associated cams 71 effect displacement of spring-biased block 61 and hence of bi-metallic element 59 so as to set the temperature at which apertures 93, 95 superpose, movement of bleed plate 91 being achieved via a two armed pivoted lever 87 which amplifies member 77 movement. Opening 103 is provided for receiving a suitable pressure regulator for regulating the air-pressure supplied to bladders 31, 33, Fig. 1 of an air-flow control unit. Thus the area between bladders 31, 33 and plates 29 is varied in response to temperature changes detected by the thermostat.
