The diverter 20 is inserted through a resilient socket 27 and is secured thereto by welding or curing. The side faces of the diverter may be flexible or resilient and co-operate with sealing means (not shown) located between the diverter and the adjacent side walls of the housing. The device may be formed partly or entirely of rubber or the like or wear or corrosion resistant material. A shoulder adjacent the mouth of the inlet in cavity 22 produces the Coamda effect.
