Abstract
1438847 Separating pure oil from an oil enriched solvent DRAVO CORP 20 Sept 1973 44250/73 Heading B1B A process for recovering, at elevated temperatures, substantially pure oil and a recycle solvent stream from an oil-enriched solvent comprises passing the enriched solvent through a first evaporative zone in indirect heat transfer relationship with a heat transfer medium to evaporate a major proportion of the solvent therefrom, passing the major portion of the solvent through a first condensing zone in indirect heat transfer relationship with a second heat transfer medium to form a condensate including the solvent and passing the condensate through a contact zone in direct contact with the heat transfer medium withdrawn from the first evaporative zone. The process is used in the recovery of vegetable oil from miscella and serves to reheat the solvent to the process temperature.
