Abstract

1438815 Roller for rotary harrows C VAN DER LELY NV 26 June 1973 [29 June 1972] 30423/73 Heading A1B A soil engaging cage-like roller for use behind an implement such as a rotary harrow comprises circumferentially spaced longitudinal tubes 21 which are supported in helical fashion at axially spaced points along a central shaft 14. Each support comprises a pair of symmetrical annular facing welded discs 18 each of which has outwardly deformed generally triangular portions whose bases are near the periphery of the disc. Each disc is cut away at 20 to allow welding of the tubes 21. Rods 22 are arranged alternatively with tubes 21 and are releasably retained in apertured lugs 19 arranged circumferentially between the deformed regions. Periodic release of the rods prevents mud build-up. The roller is adjustably mounted on a harrow and thereby defines the working depth of the tines.
