Abstract

1438324 Rotary positive displacement fluidmachines SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AB 3 July 1974 [20 July 1973] 34620/73 Heading F1F In a meshing-screw compressor axial sealing bands such as ribs 54, 56, are disposed on, or adjacent to, the high-pressure ends of the rotors 26, 28 such that they encircle the respective shafts; and to reduce axial thrust the spaces surrounded by the bands communicate with the lowpressure side by way of recesses 58, 60 formed in the adjacent casing end-member 14. Oil may be injected through a chamber 44 and nozzles 48. Bearings 38, 40 may be lubricated from the chamber 44 through channels 50, 52. Oil draining from the bearings 40 by way of channels 55 escapes through the said recesses.
