1438225 Rotary positive - displacement fluidmachines JOY Mfg CO 11 June 1974 [27 June 1973] 25763/74 Heading F1F Male and female rotors 10, 12 for a meshing- screw compressor, or expander, have lobes 11, 13 with profiles comprising involute curves 31-32', 34-35, 20-21, 22-23 intersecting the pitch circles 14, 15. The curves 35-37, 37-36 may be arcs of circles centred at 39 and 38, respectively; and the curves 21-44, 44-46, 46-23 may be arcs of circles centred at 45, 47 and 48, respectively. Sealing strips 27, 32 may be formed on the lobes, the strips 27 engaging with notches 41.
