Abstract

1349218 Rotary positive-displacement compressors DAVEY COMPRESSOR CO 18 July 1972 [2 Aug 1971] 33485/72 Heading F1F A screw compressor 10 comprises male and female rotors 22, 24 each having two portions A, B and C, D respectively, wherein the portions A and C have constant pitches which are greater than the constant pitches of portions B and D. Each rotor can be constructed with the larger pitch portion 56, Fig. 5, integral with the shaft 52, the smaller pitch portion 58 having a bore which receives shaft portion 62. Portions 56, 58 are connected by screws 64, perfect mating of the respective helical land and groove portions being effected by locating dowel pins 72.
