Abstract

1437700 Eyelets HANS MEYER KG 3 April 1974 14832/74 Heading F2H An eyelet for sheet material 1 such as a sail or a tent comprises two rings 6a, 6b, e.g. of plastics, to be placed one on either side of the sheet 1 about a hole la, and a metal sleeve 7 to pass through the hole la and the rings 6a, 6b and be swaged over the rings to clamp the sheet 1 between them, and a plurality of needles 14 to penetrate the sheet 1 at right angles at points spaced around the hole 1a and to engage in aligned bores 13 in the rings 6a, 6b. The centre 8 of the sleeve 7 is deformed radially outwardly to increase its rigidity. The needles 14 may be of metal or plastics.
