Abstract

1441467 Retaining ring WALDES KOHINOOR Inc 26 Feb 1974 [31 May 1973] 8595/74 Heading F2H A retaining ring 10 comprises an open-ended ring having radially inner beam portions 16a- 16b and radially outer beam portions 12a-12e interconnected by arms 20a, 20b, the radially outer beam portions having radial widths which decrease progressively from a line radially bisecting the middle of the ring, and the arms being arranged so as to be deflected on expansion or compression of the ring whereby the beam portions are displaced circumferentially. The ends 24a, 24b of the ring may be provided with apertures. The groove-seating edge of the ring may be provided with a bevel 30. The ring may be adapted for use as an external ring, as shown, or as an internal ring (Figs. 3, 4, not shown).
