Abstract

1437242 Push-button cap KANEBO KK 31 Oct 1973 [6 Nov 1972 7 May 1973 (2)] 50692/73 Heading B8T A push-button cap comprises an engaging member B from which depend resiliently movable legs 4 each having at its lower end a projection 3 adapted to engage in a ring-like groove 1 of the mouth A of a bottle. Each leg 4 has a downwardly broadening rib 5. The member B receives the upper end of an inner cap member D. The legs 4 extend between walls 6 and 7 of cap member D so that the projections 3 pass through corresponding apertures 9 in the inner wall 7. A hollow cylindrical member 10 extends upwardly from the centre of member D. A push-button member E, engages around cylindrical member 10, and seats inside member B so that on depression of the button E against a spring 13 the ribs 5 are engaged and the projections 3 are removed from their operative position in the groove 1. A disc-like sealing member C fits over the mouth A of the bottle. A covering member F holds the assembly together. Another embodiment has an elongate tube extending upwardly from the disc C, with an annular flange around the central portion preventing the tube detaching from member D. The tube is such that when button E is pressed fully it contacts the tube thus easing removal of the assembly. A third embodiment has a smaller diameter spring which operatively fits inside an elongate tube on the disc C, said tube having a flange at the upper end and said spring pressing directly on member C upon depression of button E.
