Chambers and containers, details of construction of.-Relates to drying-apparatus of the kind in which a pair of co-axial cylinders are rotated about their axis, heated gas passing around one or both chambers whilst the material to be dried moves in the space between them. The invention consists in attaching the inner cylinder 2 to the outer cylinder 1 by means of tangential stays 4 in order to prevent undue stress being produced as the apparatus expands or contracts. The stays may be secured to the inner cylinder, or, as shown, to a band 5 surrounding, but capable of moving relatively to, the cylinder. In another form, the stays are pivoted to the agitators 6, 8 that are secured to the cylinders.
