Abstract

1436759 Tipping vehicles B L BATESON 9 Aug 1974 [17 Sept 1973 23 Nov 1973] 43429/73 and 54557/73 Heading B7B In a tipping vehicle the floor 7 is arranged to pivot in one direction and a superstructure 3 which in position of rest forms a container with the floor pivots in the opposite direction to the floor to be lifted away from the floor. As shown in Fig. 2 as a ram 9 pivoted to the chassis 1 and floor 7 is extended the floor 7 pivots on pivot 11 and at the same time the front of the superstructure 3 is held by bars 10 connecting it to the chassis 1 so that the rear of superstructure 3 is raised well clear of floor 7 to allow the contents to slide down freely. In an alternative arrangement the front wall 8 instead of being mounted to floor 7 may be part of the superstructure 3. The vehicle may also be designed to tip to one side instead of to the rear.
