1436722 Inhibiting corrosion NIPPON OIL CO Ltd 5 June 1973 26906/73 Addition to 1330516 Heading C7E Corrosion of steel by a fluid discharge from a process of hydrodesulphurization of heavy petroleum products, which contains water, 0À5-4 mol/litre NH 3 , and H 2 S in concentration 5-15 kg/cm<SP>2</SP> calculated as its pressure in the vapour phase and which has flow velocity 1-10 m/sec, is inhibited by adding to said fluid at least one of elemental S, NH 4 polysulphides, and alkali metal polysulphides, in total amount 5 p.p.m. to 0À3 wt. per cent calculated as available sulphur.
