Abstract
143,597. Kamei, K. Feb. 19, 1919. Kinematograph apparatus; three-colour and like systems; prism systems.-In a kinematograph process for taking and projecting colour pictures, four pairs of pictures are taken successively through four sets of pairs of filters chosen from four colours, namely, red, bluishgreen, orange yellow, and purple-indigo. The images are subsequently projected in pairs through the same filters and recombined on the screen. Each image is half the ordinary size of a picture. The pairs of images a, b, Fig. 2, are produced by means of a lens 2 and square prism block 3, or by a modified arrangement of prisms shown in Fig. 5. The rotating colour filter 4, Fig. 1, has the four sets of colours R, G, B, Y in pairs, and is used in conjunction with a shutter 1. In projecting the pictures, the same optical system is used with a condenser 6. A shutter with jagged edges K. Fig. 3, may be used for projections, in lieu of the shutter 1.
