Abstract
1435068 Current collectors LUCIEN FERRAZ & CIE 16 Oct 1974 [23 Oct 1973] 44922/74 Heading H2E A device for transmitting current to an axle 1 of an electric railway vehicle with axle boxes 8 outside the wheels comprises brushes 31, in a brush-support 29 integral with a disc support 15, 16, which pass current from a conductor 38 to a disc 23. On the axle side of the disc 23 is a beryllium bronze leaf spring 25, its centre portion in a groove in plate 24 attached to the disc and its ends bolted to a member 28 screwed to the axle. When the axle rotates the spring forces the disc to rotate and passes current between the two while allowing relative longitudinal movement.
